everything changes

everything fades

everything returns to dust

[not you]

.

we are frail

we are failure

we are finite

[not you]

. 

our sins have set you against us

those we've tried to hide

yet you see right through us

,

thus, we live - dying

mourning

striving

failing

stumbling

toiling

wheezing

who considers that it is all because we turned away from life,

and angered our Creator?

.

teach us to cherish every breath

knowing from Whom it comes

.

Come back to us, God!

Save us in your mercy!

Satisfy us every morning with your steadfast love

fill our days with joy

.

we've suffered many years at your hand

yet your hand can make us glad again

show us your work

your ways

your glory

your power

your favour

strengthen us!

yes, strengthen us indeed
